This week, we met with our buddy class to present our speeches to each other. Our buddy class are younger than us and they presented some really fun poems. We presented what we understand about Kaititakitanga and why it is important to be conscious of our impact on the environment. We also developed an appreciation for the natural resources we have available to us and we are more thoughtful about how we manage our own waste. It was incredible to see everyone bravely take the stage and present with confidence. Arnav and some other learners were courageous and hooked their audience in by introducing themselves, using their first language. Arnav felt proud to use his mother tongue in his presentation and we were all blown away at how articulate everybody was as they presented.

This morning we had the pleasure of exploring and checking out the learning that has been happening in room 3 at Homai Primary School. We loved seeing the photos of the class, especially the one where everyone is pulling funny faces.
Our learning involved taking screenshots and replacing images, using our devices. We are becoming more. fluent as we practice.
Juwairiyyah and Arnav enjoyed having a chat about the Anime that they like to watch as they responded to Room 3s comment on our blog. They are looking forward to writing and sharing their own blog posts in the weeks to come.

This week we have been creating our first blog post in Room 23. We made our About Me poster using Google Draw while reflecting on what are smart things to share online.

It was great to have sentence starters to help us reflect on what are makes a good quality blog post.
What would you put into your About Me poster?
Thanks for reading!
Room 23

Wow! What a great first day of Cybersmart learning in Room 23.
We were learning about making bookmarks in our session so that we can be at the Right place at the Right time.

Then we started to make a poster to share about ourselves. Miss Naomi showed us a poster that told us a little bit about her and we talked about what we could share online to be Cybersmart.
We are looking forward to more learning with our Chromebooks.
